Gage Purdy

Gage Purdy - Music Director

Gage is a baritone, an instrumentalist, and a private music instructor. He sang with Bob Worth’s Bach Choir, Carol Menke’s Cantiamo, Jody Beneke’s SRJC Choir, and the Santa Rosa Symphonic Chorus under Dan Earl. In addition to co-founding Manzanita Harmony, Gage directs the Occcidental Community Choir, the California Redwood Chorale, and the Santa Rosa Unitarian Universalist Congregation

Jeff Sengstack

Jeff Sengstack - Executive Director - bass

Jeff played trumpet in high school, switched to guitar and vocals through and well after college, and then jumped into choirs and later barbershop choruses and quartets including his long-time four-some: Leading Tones. He co-founded Manzanita Harmony because of his love for the resonance and harmony of men's voices and the joy it brings him to share that music with others.

Spencer Causey

Spencer Causey - baritone

Spencer grew up surrounded by music, playing guitar, piano, and French horn. He studied Music Performance at Sonoma State University, and was drawn towards vocal music post-Covid. He sang with the Penninsulaires and fell in love with the barbershop style. 

Thibault de Chatellus

Thibault de Chatellus - baritone

Thibault has played the piano since age seven. He started singing in his twenties with the Chœur Montjoie in Paris, France, performing classical chorus works. He currently sings with the St. Hilary’s church choir, the Marin Barbershop Chorus, and Manzanita Harmony. 

Jason Chodora

Jason Chodora - lead

Jason played jazz trombone from a young age in different ensembles. Once Jason and his wife Tracy had children, performing music went on the back burner. After retiring from engineering last summer, he joined the California Redwood Chorale and is loving singing. He recently joined Manzanita Harmony and is finding tremendous joy in men's harmony.

Dan Exelby

Dan Exelby - bass

Dan has been singing in choirs and choruses for over 50 years. While growing up he sang in many school and church choirs. He was a founding member of the Sonoma County Bach Society and has performed with the Sonoma County Honor Choir. He has been a member of The Santa Rosa Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society since the 90s.  

David Hansen

David Hansen - tenor1/tenor

New Zealand born. 1952 - Cathedral Grammar School, Christchurch, under C. Foster Brown, chorister for local cathedral and with visiting Vienna Boys Choir. 1962 - Iowa Wesleyan chorus. 1972 - Berkeley Community Chorus under Eugene Jones. 1997 - Sonoma County Men's Chorus under Ken Knight. 2010 - Sonoma Chanson and FUMC Chamber Chorus under Jan Lappin.  

Greg King

Greg King - tenor1/tenor/lead

Greg has been singing tenor for much of his adult life with coast-to-coast musical stops including: Cornell Glee Club (NY), Michigan Glee Club (MI), Boston Cecilia (MA), Convivium Musicum (MA), and California Redwood Chorale (CA). He lives in Petaluma with his wife and 3 children and works in the field of data analytics.  

Keizen Li Qian

Keizen Li Qian - baritone

Keizen is a gender-creative 1.5-generation Chinese immigrant and composer. They discovered the joy of choral singing as a grad student at CSU Fullerton and teaches biology to support their music habit. 

Bob Mateucci

Bob Mateucci - tenor1/tenor

Robert is a graduate of SFSU with degrees in Music and Theater: Performance. He has performed with the SF Lamplighters for over 30 years. Robert has been a member of the Napa, Marin and Santa Rosa chapters of the Barbershop Harmony Society and has served as Director for two chapters. He has worked as Box Office Manager for Actor's Theater, the Luther Burbank Center, SRJC and SRT. Robert currently sings with Sonoma Bach Chorale. 

Elden McFarland

Elden McFarland - bass

Elden came late to harmony singing, joining his first chorus only after retirement from a career in human services. He has sung bass with the Healdsburg Chorus and the Redwood Chordsmen, as well as with a couple of small ensembles. He regularly circles Fitch Mountain, serenading residents with standards, rancheras, boleros, and Neapolitan songs.  

Stephen Nestel

Stephen Nestel - baritone

Stephen is a lifelong musician and folksinger with an interest in early jazz, western harmony and American music. He sang with the San Francisco Folk Choir and currently sings with the Marin Barbershop Chorus. When he is not singing in choir, you will find him jamming with friends.  

Karl Radtke

Karl Radtke - baritone

Karl has been choral singing since 1985 with the following groups: Healdsburg Community Chorus, Cinnabar Chamber Singers, Occidental Community Choir, Marin Barbershop Chorus and now Manzanita Harmony. In 2016 he joined a four-part harmony group, the Leading Tones. The Leading Tones has truly driven and increased his love for men's harmony.  

Alex Randolph

Alex Randolph - bass

Alex has been singing all his life, performing in various choruses since he was very young. He joined with the Redwood Chordsmen as a young adult and has been with them ever since. He attributes his love of singing to his deceased father, who directed barbershops when he was younger. 

Gordon Stubbe

Gordon Stubbe - bass

Gordon grew up in Erie County PA and went to Case Western. He moved to Bodega in the 70's and has been active in local music and theater ever since, most notably with the Occidental Community Choir for 35 years. 

Max Vicas

Max Vicas - tenor1/tenor

Hi, I’m Max. Originally from the East Bay, been singing in Sonoma County around 10 years. Music has always been a great passion and always will be. I have toured in choirs internationally since a young age and studied Music at Sonoma State in Applied Performance and Music Education.  

Michael Vivrette

Michael Vivrette - tenor2/lead

Michael is a CPA living in Lake County. Chorister 50+ years currently in Marin Barbershop Chorus and Dominican Chorale. Founding member of Vocal Color Napa Valley. Memorable highlights include: Cal Poly Collegiate Quartet; busking in Europe 1973; playing guitar & concertina with an Irish ballad trio "Rascals & Rogues;" performing Messiah at Carnegie Hall.
